GARDEN CONSULTING OFFERINGS​

1. Garden Consultation
   *In-person and virtual options are available*
   This one-on-one Garden Consultation is an opportunity to ask me questions and pick my brain on any garden subject you would like, from garden design and plant selection to hardscape installation and planting help.
    

2. Garden Consultation with Garden Plan
   *In-person and virtual options are available*
   For anyone who needs help creating a plan to bring their dream garden to life. We will work together to create a personalized Garden Plan that re-envisions an existing garden space or designs a new one. You will receive a site-specific, personalized action plan for your garden, including detailed guidance on how to bring the plan to life.
    

3. Garden Together Session 
   A one-on-one, hands-on gardening class, just for you. Garden Together Sessions are designed for on-site visits where I help garden alongside you or work through garden planning.

GARDEN CONSULTATION

This is the perfect opportunity for anyone feeling stuck in their garden or needing help to solve a specific issue. This one-on-one Garden Consultation is 1 an opportunity to ask me questions and pick my brain on any garden subject you would like, from garden design and plant selection to hardscape installation and planting help. We will spend an hour in your garden, talking through any project or questions you may have. The Garden Consultation includes a follow-up email with notes, resources, and recommendations.

 

This consultation can cover:

• Garden planning or getting my thoughts an existing garden plan

• Solving a problem in your garden

• What plants to put in a specific area

• Reorganizing a section of your garden

• Designing a new garden/new garden bed

• Plant inspiration and help choosing plants

• How to plant

• Caring for your garden

• Managing your garden space efficiently

• Ways to simplify your existing garden

• How to add more beauty and function to your garden

• Guidance for this season's planting

Should I book an in-person or a virtual Garden Consultation?

In-person Garden Consultations are recommended for anyone within my geographical area - being able to walk around your garden and chat in person is far more valuable than connecting virtually.

 

In-person Garden Consultations are available within a 25 mile radius of Eureka, California at the listed price. In-person Garden Consultations may be extended to anyone living within Humboldt County for an additional travel cost ($.70/mile round trip).

 

Virtual Garden Consultations are available for anyone outside of the Humboldt County area. If you are in a very different gardening area to Northern California, please understand that my gardening knowledge is mostly focused on this region and you may be better served working with an expert from your own area.

 

NOTE: the Garden Consultation is a sharing of information and knowledge, but does not include a Garden Plan. See below for that offering.

GARDEN CONSULTATION WITH GARDEN PLAN

Length: 1 hour Consultation + design time

Cost: $400*

 

This is the perfect offering for anyone who needs help creating a plan to bring their dream garden to life. We will work together to create a personalized Garden Plan that re-envisions an existing garden space or designs a new one. You will receive a site-specific, personalized action plan for your garden, including detailed guidance on how to bring the plan to life.

 

The first step is an in-person Garden Consultation and conversation, which typically takes 60-90 minutes (a virtual option is also available for gardeners outside of the Humboldt County area). During this time I will assess your garden space and we will discuss your needs, wants, questions, and concerns in regard to your garden. 

 

Afterwards I will create your customized Garden Plan, including: 

• Your illustrated custom garden design, incorporating all of your garden wants and needs

• A comprehensive, custom plant list, with photos

• A list of local and online plant nurseries to shop from

• A Planting Guide for instructions on where and how to plant

• Detailed notes from our visit

*The $400 cost covers up to 3 garden areas. If your property is very large and/or contains more than 3 distinct garden areas, an additional cost may be added (this will be discussed during the consultation).

NOTE: this offering includes the creation of a Garden Plan, but you will be responsible for installing the garden yourself. If you would like help installing/planting the garden, you can find that offering below.

GARDEN TOGETHER SESSION

Length: 1 hour (but can be multiple hours)

Cost: $100/hour

 

A one-on-one, hands-on gardening class, just for you. Garden Together Sessions are designed for on-site visits where I help garden alongside you or work through garden planning. These sessions are created to suit your needs and can include: 

• Reviewing and editing garden plans

• Planting new plants

• Seasonal tidy-ups

• Recommending new plants for your garden

• Moving and dividing plants

• Creating a pollinator garden

• Building a pond

• Building new beds

• Turning compost

• Solving problems in your garden

• Pruning

• Seed saving

• Starting seeds

• Anything else needed to keep your garden fully functioning ecologically and aesthetically
